Dmitri Kachan

Managing Partner

Dmitri is a graduate of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign College of Law. During law school, he represented clients in Department of Children and Family Services proceedings, advocating for parents seeking to preserve their parental rights.

After graduating, Dmitri joined the Will County State’s Attorney’s Office, rising from law clerk to courtroom supervisor. In that capacity, he managed a broad range of complex criminal matters — including assaults, batteries, DUI charges, criminal sexual abuse cases, and assisted in murder investigations and prosecutions. During his tenure, Dmitri handled hundreds of thousands of cases and actively participated in hundreds of hearings and trials, developing significant courtroom, investigative, and litigation skills.

In private practice, Dmitri represents a diverse spectrum of clients, from national insurance companies and transportation brokers to motor carriers and everyday drivers. His practice includes advising transportation companies on regulatory compliance, insurance disputes, and FMCSA matters, as well as handling commercial and residential real estate transactions. In recent years, Dmitri and his firm have led multimillion-dollar real estate development projects throughout the Chicagoland suburbs.

Dmitri also maintains a strong focus on Criminal and Traffic Law, drawing on his prosecutorial experience and passion for litigation. He is an active member of the Transportation Lawyers Association and concentrates his practice in the areas of Contracts, Transportation Law, Compliance, Insurance Law, Real Estate, Family Law, and Criminal Defense.
